Whips and Workouts

How are you doing Whippers?

I had mentioned last week how you can easily log your calories and set yourself some goals.  By this time, you should be trying out different ways to move around and have an idea how to get those calories under control.  You are doing awesome!  You may have even seen a pound or 2 missing from the scale (YAY!). You can be happy about this, this is what gets you motivated.

Have you chosen your exercise?  Depending on your level of fitness, you may find some things easier or harder than others.  When I first started out, my level of fitness was nil, so any movement was positive movement.  It was during this time that I discovered whip cracking and, at the time, it was great exercise to get me started.  If you aren’t in the position to get a good whip and some instructional videos to get you started, just walk.  Walk at your own pace this next week for 30 minutes to an hour a day.   Just move.  That couch is your enemy, that TV wants to trigger you into eating (ever notice how many food commercials you see online?) Moving is going to be your ultimate weapon.  Even if it’s window shopping, just get up and walk this week.

I want to tell you what to expect now that you are counting your calories and moving around.  At first, you will see some weight fall off really fast.    I do want to tell you though, those first few pounds are water weight.  You need to keep going in order to chip away at the “real pounds.”  Now is where the work comes in.  If you are anything like me, you want results NOW!  Not only is this incredibly unhealthy, but your body wants to hold onto this weight.  It’s going to take some cajoling to get it to give it up.  You will see it come off, but it might not be quite what you expect.  For me, it was a leveling off period where I didn’t loose any weight at all for about a week, then suddenly 2 pounds would be gone.  So, for the next 2 weeks, try to stay away from the scale.  You keep doing what you need to do, it will let go.  Don’t get discouraged keep going.  You are going to do amazing!

If you would like to give whip cracking a try, check out the main website.  I have art whips and practical whips available ready made, or I can make one for you in colors you choose.

I can also point you to a great set of DVDs to get you started building strength and coordination with whip cracking.  What you will take away from them will help you not only with whips, but will strengthen you for other forms of exercise later on.  When I first got started, balance, stamina and strength was just so lacking, that I wasn’t even able to stand on one leg.  You will be pleasantly surprised with how much better your body will function.

You are so amazing.  You are doing something amazing, not only for yourself, but for your family and friends.  You are going to be so much happier, so much more mobile, so much healthier.  You will see your babies graduate, get married, be with your grandbabies well into their adulthood.  You are so so very worth every bit of this.  I’m with you.  We can do it together!

Be well,

Jessie
